All eyes are now set on the release of Star Wars The Force Awakens which opens next Friday, in India, a week after its global release.
And the film didn’t escape the censor board’s hawk eyes either. However the CBFC has decided to go easy on the cuts. In fact Star Wars The Force Awakens has been certified with a ‘U’ certificate which means the film is unconditionally open to viewing by audiences of all ages, without a single cut.
Says a source in the know, “After the hue and cry in November over the censored kisses in the James Bond franchise, the censor board didn’t want to take a chance again. They decided to let the force remain with Star Wars. Unhampered.”
