Celebrities have always associated themselves for noble causes. Well the latest to join the group is none other than actor Anupam Kher who has reportedly adopted an impoverished Kashmiri pandit family. In fact, Kher has adopted a family in the remote village of Zadroo, Pulwama, in South Kashmir. They were one of the few Pandits who chose to stay on in the Valley after the others fled following the start of militancy in 1989.
As for the family headed by Ashok Kumar Raina, who works as a daily labourer, it comprises of five people including three daughters. On his part, Kher, who has been pretty vocal about his support for the Kashmiri pandits, has promised to assist the family financially as well as to take care of the marriage expenses of the eldest daughter in the family.
