Censor chief to make a comeback with film written by Bajrangi Bhaijaan writer

He may be burning the midnight oil looking into his work as the censor board chief. But Pahlaj Nihalani has not forgotten his duties and obligations as a filmmaker. Not only is he ready with his next production Avatar, he is all set to produce and direct a lavish costume drama scripted by the much in-demand Tamil writer K V Vijayendra Prasad who is the father of the Tamil-Telugu super-director S S Rajamouli.

The father-son duo have given many hits in Tamil and Telugu. Vijayendra Prasad has also scripted the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Nihalani bought Vijayendra Prasad’s script after hearing the plot. The film is based on the controversial demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. It tells the story of a protagonist named Kabir and his experiences after the Demolition.

Says Nihalani, “I knew Bajrangi Bhaijaan was a sure-shot blockbuster. When I heard the plot-line I was bowled over. I wanted to work with Vijayendra Prasad. He is a brilliant writer. He and his son Rajamouli are to Tamil-Telugu cinema what O P Dutta and his son J P Dutta were to Hindi cinema.”
