The title song, ‘Guddu Rangeela‘, sung well by Amit and Divya sketches the characters of the two main male protagonists in a very entertaining and humorous manner. Lyrics are just apt and so are the minimal arrangements that adorn the song.
The remix is worth a try and the added beats heighten the fun.
The passionate love song, ‘Sooiyaan‘, rests solely on Arijit’s silky vocals (although Chinmayi Sripada provides good support) and is a nice soft number that is pleasant to the ears. Irshad’s lyrics are unique and in sync with the situation.
‘Sahebaan‘ is a lovely, refreshingly melodious love ballad that attracts due to its nice rhythm and simple lyrics. Chinmayi Sripada’s sweet vocals complement Shahid| Mallya’s rendition.
‘Mata Ka E-Mail’ is the jagran/jagrata song for the Gen X (with e-mail and facebook thrown in!) and one must commend Irshad Kamil for really funny and whacky lyrics that bring a smile instantly. In fact one does not miss Amitabh Bhattacharya here (who is Amit’s trusted lieutenant in most cases). Singer Gajendra Phogat (along with Subhash Kapoor) sings with heart and emotions .
Summing up, there is no doubt that Amit Trivedi is in full form here and has once again come up with some entertaining and unconventional compositions that are sure to blend seamlessly with the script. Our picks ‘Mata Ka E-Mail’ and ‘Saahebaan’. The film opens all over on 3rd July and songs are sure to gain even more popularity afterwards.
