Recently, Imran Khan, who will next be seen in Katti Batti, made news when he snidely made a comment on veteran filmmaker Rahul Rawail saying ‘Is Rahul Rawail still around?’ Though the filmmaker seemed upset with the comment and also tweeted ‘My sympathies with this mentally challenged person’, his nephew Rajat Rawail took to the social networking site Facebook lambasting Imran Khan for his statement.
Talking about Imran’s launch in Bollywood, Rajat, who was seen alongside Salman Khan in Bodyguard said, “Imran Khan needs a reality check. It was Mr. Aamir Khan that went from pillar to post promoting Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na and his goodwill and credibility got the audience into the theaters.”
Further talking about Imran Khan’s past few back to back flops, Rajat commented, “Imran Khan’s claim to fame is Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara [he ruined the brand franchise built by the stellar performance of Ajay Sir] & Gori Tere Pyaar Main which happens to be a landmark disaster in all senses in the solid dharma productions library. Both these above mentioned films are appx loss estimated of Rs 50cr+ to the producers/financiers/distributors. Shahrukh Khan says in Chak De India “Pehle Apni Game Baaki Logon Se Unchi Karo, Phir Apni Aawaz Unchi Karna.”
Rajat then went on talk about the old family friendship between the two families. “It’s extremely sad to hear Imran Khan make a statement like this about Mr Rahul Rawail. If his has grand uncle was alive today [the legendry film maker Mr Nasir Hussain, who was a dear friend of Mr Rahul Rawail’s father Shri H S Rawail [Mere Mehboob and Laila Majnu] he would have put this obstinate, self-conceited, disaster of a non-actor in his place…Imran khan needs to know his position in the trade today – he has only made it to the party list, thats it!!!!”
His final statement on the subject however questioning Imran’s market value today. “Today a film with me as a leading man will take a bigger draw then him….now it’s time for him to piggy back on Kangna Ranaut. ‘Imran Khan aaj producer ke liye free main mahenga hain!!!'”
