The philosophical, soft, soothing and serene ‘Bandeyaa‘ (composed and lyrics by the young composer duo, Amjad Nadeem), is rendered well by Jubin Nautiyal, and will surely fit well with the unfolding drama. The lead urging his beloved not to leave him alone and go the separate way is conveyed well through some lovely heart touching lyrics.
There is another version of ‘Bandeyaa‘ (reprise) which has been sung well by Asees Kaur and the song makes for a good second hear.
‘Kahaaniyan‘ contains the never say die spirit (jazbaa) of the leads and one can also term it as the title song. The inspirational motivational number has a nice flowing (although quite heard before) rhythm and one expected Arko to come up with a fresher one, as is always the case. Nilofer Wani does a good job behind the mike, but the diction is faulty at times.
Vippin Anneja’s deep throated husky vocals are just perfect for the ‘ghazal’ type composition, ‘Jaane Tere Shaher Ka‘ composed by Arko. The situational number has been penned well by Arko and it fits the character essayed by Irrfan.
Badshah’s ‘Aaj Raat Ka Scene‘ is a club dance number seems to be rehash of his super hit number, ‘Abhi to Party Shuru Hui Hai‘ (KHOOBSURAT) which itself was inspired by Yo Yo’s ‘Party All Night‘. Badshah’s rap is predictable and routine with Shraddha Pandit providing the oomph factor.
In a nutshell, the audio of Sanjay Gupta’s JAZBAA, delivers, although not fully, keeping in mind his chartbusting numbers from his previous ventures. ‘Bandeyaa‘ and ‘Jaane Tere Shaher‘ are the best. The situational audio should hopefully help the cause of JAZBAA which releases all over this week.
