This Friday’s two major releases, Katrina Kaif-Sidharth Malhotra starrer BAAR BAAR DEKHO and the Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Arbaaz and Amy venture FREAKY ALI, performed predictably.

As per trade inputs, BAAR BAAR DEKHO saw a 25-35 percent start (higher occupancy at metro multiplexes) during the early shows, FREAKY AlI was much lower at 15-20 percent, on an average.
While both BAAR BAAR DEKHO and FREAKY AlI saw a mixed feedback from the audience, given the much lower procurement cost (8 crore), the Nawazuddin starrer has the advantage of the all-time favourite theme- Triumph of the under-dog- going in its favour. Having said that the clear picture will emerge once the weekend is over and Monday settles in.
Meanwhile, last week’s A.R. Murugadoss directed Sonakshi Sinha starrer, AKIRA, managed a decent first week netting 25-26 crore and can still end up as a safe bet for the concerned parties, if it can put up a reasonable performance during the second week. Here’s hoping it does!
