Amaal Malik’s ‘Rom Rom Romantic‘ lyrically fits in with the adult comedy theme of MASTIZAADE, but the heard before tune (may be inspired by the same Goan folk tune) strongly inspired by Mika’s recent superhit ‘Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai‘ (PHATA POSTER NIKLA HERO) is a letdown. And no wonder its Mika who has been assigned the task of rendering the number and Amaal and Armaan join in, but to no avail.
Meet Bros Anjjan’s Punjabi folk inspired dance number ‘Hor Nach‘ rendered by the composers and Ritu Pathak is as routine as it comes and thus fails to make any sort of impact at all.
‘Dekhega Raja Trailer‘ marks the comeback of Anand Raj Anand (also the lyricist here) who has been associated with all MASTI series movies. This time it’s an all rhythmic desi item/dance number which brings forth the naughty ‘nautanki‘ feel quite well. Neha Kakkar is does a fine job and Naksh Aziz provides good support.
Meet Bros Anjjan’s next outing, the title track of MASTIZAADE, is quite novel in its execution and is humorous too with lyrics inspired (but modified to suit the adult sex comedy theme) by SHOLAY’s famous dialogues like ‘Basanti In Kutton Ke Saamne‘ and ‘Raat Ko Jab‘. The tune is reminiscent of ‘Pardesi‘ (DEV D) and a fresh tune would have worked wonders in this funny song.
Fun-frolic, light banter with hidden double meaning dialogues form the basis of ‘Kamina Hai Dil‘ composed and sung by Meet Bros Anjjan and Benny Dayal. Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Ishq Kamina‘ too finds place in the scheme of things.
The music of MASTIZAADE is a disappointment, especially because it marks the comeback of sorts of PNC production in Bollywood and despite its adult comedy theme, good music (along with Sunny Leone) would have surely added to the USP of the film. ‘Dekhega Raja Trailer‘ and ‘Mastizaade‘ title track are the saving grace.
