While the mehendi was held on Monday (October 26), the sangeet ceremony took place on Tuesday (October 27) with relatives and close friends being present during the auspicious occasion. Talking about the wedding, Harbhajan Singh wants to have a classic and simple look for his wedding while Geeta Basra has opted for a traditional look. The couple has chosen Archana Kocchar as their designer for all the functions.
Geeta wanted an extremely traditional look for all the important occasions, so we decided to go for lehengas, attached dupatta and a crop-top blouse with an Indian work on it. Geeta was specific about her colours. Harbhajan’s brief was classic and simple,” Kochhar told PTI.
“The wedding lehenga will be in traditional red-and-gold combination accessorized by a nath, a matha patti and a tikka with a beautiful head dupatta to complete the ensemble. The reception lehenga will be in electric blue colour with mirror work and sequins,” adds Archana.
Harbhajan is keeping his look simple and elegant with minimal embroidery on the wedding outfit. “An off-white self-on-self embroidered sherwani with an ornate red sword is designed for Harbhajan Singh, who very keenly took part in the selection of his outfits. For the Gurudwara, he will sport an achkan with breeches or churidaar, and a turban,” Kochhar said.
The reception will take place in Delhi on November 1 and is likely to be attended by Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and many Bollywood celebrities.
