Omung Kumar’s directorial venture Mary Kom that released in 2014 featuring Priyanka Chopra received a lot of accolades. The film that was based on the life of Indian pugilist by the same name won critical acclaim not just for its story but also for Priyanka’s portrayal of the boxer. Now we hear that the makers of the film have an added reason to smile as Mary Kom was honoured at the Stockholm Film Festival.
In fact Mary Kom was named best film at the Stockholm International Film Festival Junior in Sweden. Awarded with the Bronze Horse, the festival was presided over by a jury that consisted of children between the ages of nine to 17.
Apart from this, the film that was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival will be showcased again in Sweden by the Indian Embassy at the Indian Film Festival next month.
