Often associated with grandeur, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films are known for its royal portrayal and his upcoming historical tale of love and lust, Padmavati isn’t an exception. However, the film that boasts of an ensemble cast, periodic setting and the larger than life portrayal of two kingdoms is turning out to be an expensive venture and for that, two studios have come together for the film – Viacom 18 and Eros International.
In a unique move of sorts, Padmavati will bring together these two studios and the reason we hear is the lavish budget. After several speculations and discussions over remuneration, Padmavati is said to star three popular stars, namely – numero uno actress Deepika Padukone as the protagonist along with Gen Y superstar Ranveer Singh and renowned actor Shahid Kapoor. Hence it is being said that the budget of the film has gone through the roof and it also includes the grand backdrop which is generally a must in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.
Talking about the periodic drama, Rani Padmini, is said to be the wife of Raja Ratan Singh of Chittor and she was known for her beauty all over India (as per described in the epic poem Padmavat written by poet Mallik Mohammed Jayasi in 1950). Alauddin Khilji, yet another ruler, after hearing about the tale of the beauty of the queen gets obsessed about her and will go to any extent to win her love, even if it means waging a war against Chittor.
