“Tolerance in the country means giving your point of view. Symbolism of returning awards is fantastic. I hope something emerges from this,” said Shah Rukh Khan during the media interaction for his 50th birthday celebrations in Mumbai today. “Creativity is very secular. Art is more important. If creativity is muzzled then secularism will reduce,” SRK added. He put things into perspective by saying that people who are returning their awards ought to be heard by the people who are opposing their gesture. SRK insisted that there can’t be any alternative to Secularism in a country as diverse as India.”
Shah Rukh Khan spoke to media intimately for a long time. Nobody was stopped from asking any question. He himself insisted that as many journalists as possible should be allowed to ask questions. He was funny, thoughtful and ruminated on his life journey. “Overall, the journey has been wonderful. I wouldn’t choose any other life,” Shah Rukh Khan said.
The second teaser of Manish Sharma’s Fan released today. “Fan is the most special film that I’ve done till date. It is a difficult film. I’ve tried my best,” Shah Rukh said. He confirmed the news reports by stating that he indeed is aiming to work in three films in a year. Talking about the clash between Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani, SRK said that he hoped that the clash was averted but he feels that both films can do well due to the festive period. “I hope Bajirao Mastani does very very well,” he said. He didn’t fall into the trap when a loaded question on Salman Khan was asked. “I love Salman. He’s a stud.”
Shah Rukh Khan stated that he has never got an offer to work in Hollywood or a film from the West. “I want to make Indian films which will be watched internationally,” he said. “One of my dream projects is to create an institution where youngsters can come and learn the technique of Acting,” SRK said. On a thoughtful parting note, he said, “I have never worked for prosperity or posterity. Artiste can never be more important than Art. Even if you snatch everything from me but you can’t take away the Love that I’ve received over the years.”
