Welcome 2 Karachi movie review

Hitesh is a Gujju bhai (Dalip Tahil) who is into wedding events. He has this huge boat which goes into the deep seas and comes back after the entertainment is over. His son Kedar (Jackky Bhagnani) is a person who is notably stupid or lacking in good judgment. In short, he is a moron. The captain of his boat is Shammi (Arshad Warsi) an ex-Navy man.

One day, Hitesh bhai tells his son, ”As soon as you see the wedding party come, take the boat, party and come back.” Kedar [with an IQ that he has] sees the wedding party arriving and does exactly what his father says. The wedding party is frantically waving out as the boat leaves without them.

Kedar and Shammi, who have some firang dancers on boat, break into a song. As the song is ending, a storm breaks out. And these dudes land on a beach in Karachi, half dead. Before they can regain consciousness, there is a blast on the beach and they find themselves in a hospital. From there, their adventure begins, with Al Qaida, US Intelligence and various terrorist outfits.

Towards the end, they find themselves in the cockpit of an airplane. They don’t know whether to take a right turn, or a left. Shammi is of the opinion that if you take two right turns, it becomes a ‘U’ turn.

That’s exactly what this film is about. It takes two right turns and returns back to the planning table.

Maybe, that’s why producer Vashu Bhagnani is planning a sequel to try and undo the damage of this juvenile mess. Brave man!

Arshad and comedy go hand-in-hand. He is able to make mincemeat of any dialogues, and situation, however silly. Bhagnani junior hams, and tries very hard, coming out looking really, really, really desperate. A far cry from the talent he has shown in his previous movies.

And what was Lauren Gottilieb doing in this movie which failed to tap her talent?

Welcome too, nonsense!
