Bollywood hunk John Abraham is back to the celluloid with this week’s release ‘Welcome Back’ and in a genre, he himself has confessed he finds challenging to do – comedy.

Director Anees Bazmee is known for directing comedies that don’t make sense, but are high on comic appeal. The 2007 release ‘Welcome’ was a true example of it. When it released, ‘Welcome’ was panned by critics, but in today’s date, it has the maximum repeat value on television. The team, hence, doesn’t expect any better reviews for ‘Welcome Back’ but for some love from audience, as they were quoted as saying at a promotional event.

John Abraham has replaced his ‘Garam Masala’ co-star Akshay Kumar in the movie, and actress Shruti Haasan replaces Katrina Kaif. Delhi model Sakshi Maggo has taken Mallika’s Sherawat’s place and role, while National Award winning actor Naseeruddin Shah has taken over the late Feroz Khan’s reigns.

Actress Surveen Chawla has an item number in the movie, like Malaika Arora Khan had in the last installment. All elements are similar. So, is the story any different? Yes, the team says. The story starts from where ‘Welcome’ ended. Rajeev and Sanjana get married and Majnu Bhai and Uday Shetty are on a lookout for a groom for yet another sister of theirs, played by Shruti. But this time they get, a not-so-shareef John as the prospect.

The film has been marketed well, with Anil Kapoor and John striking a major bromance and flooring the people with their one-liners. With Firoz A. Nadiadwala and Eros coming together, ‘Welcome Back’ has assured for itself good opening figures. And since the movie makes for a fun watch, the collections can increase on Saturday and Sunday.

Apart from ‘Welcome Back’, Hollywood movie ‘The Tranporter: Refueled: is set to release in India today, seven years since the last ‘Transporter’ movie. For pan-Indian appeal, the film is all set to release in four languages: English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in IMAX.

‘The Transporter’ series has set a high bar for action adventure, having delivered some of the most memorable action-packed sequences in the genre. Fans will see new and fresh talent in leading roles this time, taking the franchise ahead with a new spin and flavour.

The reboot will see a new young cast starring Ed Skrein with Ray Stevenson and Loan Chabanol. The cast also includes Gabriella Wright, Tatiana Pajkovic, Wenxia Yu, Noemie Lenoir and Yuri Kolokolnikov.
